    The new product is ideal for metering, iot sensing, smart locks and HMI applications
    Beijing, China, February 19, 2025 - Renesas Electronics (TSE: 6723), a global semiconductor solutions provider, today announced the launch of its RA4L1 microcontroller (MCU) portfolio, comprising 14 new products that integrate ultra-low power consumption, advanced safety features and segment LCD support. Based on the TrustZone-enabled 80MHz Arm Cortex-M33 processor, the new MCUS deliver industry-leading performance, functionality and energy savings, providing designers with superior solutions for water meters, smart locks, iot sensor applications and more.

    The RA4L1 MCU uses proprietary low-power technology with a power consumption of 168μA/MHz in 80MHz operating mode. With all of the SRAM retained, the standby current is only 1.70μA. In addition, the new products are available in ultra-small packages, including a 3.64 x 4.28 mm wafer-scale chip package (WLCSP), to meet the needs of products such as portable printers, digital cameras and smart labels.
    The RA4L1 MCU is powered by Renesas Flexible Configuration Package (FSP). FSP provides all the infrastructure software you need, including multiple RTOS, BSPS, peripheral drivers, middleware, connectivity, networking, and TrustZone support, as well as reference software for building complex AI, motor control, and cloud solutions to speed up application development. It allows customers to integrate their own existing code and selected RTOS with the FSP, creating full flexibility for application development. In addition, FSP simplifies the migration of existing IP between RA6 or RA2 series products.

    Security: unique ID; RSIP security engine that supports true random number generator (TRNG), AES, ECC, hash function;
    Wide operating temperature range: QFN, QFP and CSP package options: Ta = -40°C to +125°C; BGA package options: -40°C to +105°C.
