    The ST VNH9030AQ integrated full-bridge DC motor driver is suitable for a variety of automotive uses such as functional safety applications, not only integrating advanced diagnostic functions, but also equipped with a dedicated pin that displays real-time output status, reducing the need for external circuitry and reducing material costs.

    The VNH9030AQ has an on-resistance RDS(on) of 30mΩ per bridge arm and is capable of efficiently handling low to medium power DC motor drive applications, such as door control modules, cleaning pumps, electric tailgates, electric luggage, seat adjusters, etc.

    The on-chip, dissipation-free current detection circuit monitors the current flowing through the chip and identifies each phase of the motor, improving the overall energy efficiency of the driver and saving external components. Throughout the operating temperature range, the driver can maintain a very low standby power consumption, which reduces the difficulty of the driver's application in the regional controller platform.
    The VNH9030AQ integrates a high-low side MOSFET switch with a gate driver, diagnostics, and transient overvoltage, undervoltage, short circuit protection and cross-on-prevention. The flexibility with which MOSFETs can be configured in parallel or in series makes them suitable for multi-motor systems or other specific needs.
    The new product is part of a family of products using ST's VIPower M0-9 technology, which efficiently integrates power stages and logic circuits on a single chip. The entire range features an innovative 6mm x 6mm triple pad QFN package with enhanced heat dissipation to optimize heat dissipation efficiency under the driver. In addition, the entire line of products also share pin arrangements to simplify board layout and software secondary use.
    The VNH9030AQ is now in mass production.
