The confirmation of DC power supply for motor driver is analyzed from two aspects of current and voltage.
1. Determination of current
The power supply current is generally determined by the output phase current I of the driver. If the linear power supply is used, the power supply current is generally 1.1-1.3 times that of I; If switching power supply is used, the power supply current is generally 1.5-2.0 times of I.
2. Determination of voltage
The power supply voltage of the hybrid stepper voltage driver is generally in a wide range (for example, 14-80VDC is the power supply voltage of the MOONS stepper motor driver MD-2806V provided by us), and the power supply voltage is usually selected according to the working speed and response requirements of the motor. If the motor operating speed is high or the response requirement is fast, then the voltage value is also high, but note that the ripple of the power supply voltage cannot exceed the maximum input voltage of the driver, otherwise it may damage the driver.
