MALVERN, Pennsylvania, USA; Shanghai, China - July 16, 2025 - Recently, Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. (NYSE stock code: VSH announced the launch of a new three-color LED- VLMRGB6122 - for in-car lighting, RGB displays and backlighting. The luminous intensity reaches 2800 mcd at 20 mA. Automotive-grade VLMRGB6122.." Red, green and blue chips are integrated in the 3.5mm x 2.8mm x 1.4mm PLCC-6 small surface mount package, with independent anode and cathode connections. The color of each chip can be controlled separately. Through color mixing, the color gamut triangle defines each color in the color gamut to fall within the CIE 1931 color space.
The recently launched Vishay Semiconductors LED has a wide color gamut and is suitable for in-vehicle ambient lighting, switch display, status indication, dashboard signal and symbol display, large-sized, full-color message and video display screens, backlighting for consumer electronics, household appliances, medical instruments and communication equipment, as well as various strong light and decorative lighting. For these applications, the devices employ the latest high-brightness AllnGaP and InGaN technologies, with brightness increased by 70% compared to the previous generation solution and package height reduced by 22% compared to competing products.
VLMRGB6122.. It features high reliability, with a temperature range of -40 °C to +110 °C, 25 °C higher than the standard solution, and corrosion resistance reaching B1 grade. The LED has been certified by AEC-Q102 and complies with the JESD22-A114-B standard. Its moisture sensitivity level (MSL) is 3, and its ESD withstand voltage can reach up to 2 kV (red) and 8 kV (blue and green). The device complies with RoHS and Vishay green standards, is halogen-free, and can be used with infrared reflow soldering. The luminous intensity, color and forward voltage are classified by the coil.
