    On April 17, 2025, WPG Holdings, a leading international semiconductor component distributor dedicated to the Asia-Pacific market, announced that its subsidiary, Youshang, has launched a high-precision positioning system application solution based on stmicroelectronics' STA8135 GNSS chip and Trina Smart Control's TH1100 module.

    In recent years, with the vigorous development of multiple fields such as unmanned aerial vehicles, surveying and mapping, autonomous driving of agricultural machinery, driving test and training, and intelligent lawn mowers, the demand for GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System) in the market has been constantly rising. Against this background, Daliang Dayoushang has launched a high-precision positioning system application solution based on the ST STA8135 chip and Trina Smart Control TH1100 module, aiming to meet the growing demand for high-precision positioning and help various industries achieve intelligent upgrades.

    STA8135 is ST's new generation of three-frequency high-precision positioning chip, supporting multi-constellation and multi-frequency band signal reception, with centimeter-level positioning capability. Combined with TRW's RTK (Real-time Dynamic Positioning) algorithm, it can better meet the high-precision positioning demands of various application markets.
    Trina Intelligent Control focuses on the research and development and production of key components for intelligent connected vehicles, and has accumulated rich technical and engineering experience in the field of high-precision navigation and positioning. Through its independently developed system architecture, core algorithms and hardware design, the company has launched a series of high-precision positioning products, including high-precision positioning modules, integrated navigation modules, positioning terminals (VPNS), high-performance inertial components (MEMS-IMU), and vehicle-mounted satellite navigation antennas, etc. The TH1100 module applied in this solution is based on the STA8135 chip, supporting the simultaneous reception of three-frequency signals (L1+L2+L5) from multiple constellations including GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, BDS and QZSS, and achieving centimeter-level positioning accuracy through an external RTK algorithm. In addition, the TH1110 module is equipped with an inbuilt inertial measurement unit (IMU), which has the ability to calculate the track. Even in weak satellite signal or no signal environment, it can continuously provide accurate positioning information by integrating IMU data, GNSS measurements, vehicle speed information and dynamic models.

    The technical advantages of TRW Intelligent Control make up for the shortcomings of the ST STA8135 GNSS chip in the RTK algorithm, enabling this solution to be widely applied in fields such as unmanned aerial vehicles, agricultural machinery, and intelligent devices, providing them with high-precision positioning support. This enables them to maintain excellent positioning performance in complex environments, thereby significantly improving operational efficiency.
