Arm architecture will account for half of the computing power shipped to leading cloud service providers in 2025
Date:August 5, 2025    Views:98

More than six years ago, Arm launched the Arm Neoverse platform for next-generation cloud infrastructure, with the belief that the scalable level of performance offered by this flexible and energy-efficient computing platform can drive systemic change in the data center ecosystem in terms of functionality and cost.
Today, the deployment of Neoverse technology has reached new heights: Nearly 50% of the computing power shipped to leading hyperscale cloud service providers in 2025 will be based on Arm architecture.
In the era of artificial intelligence (AI), the cloud computing landscape is undergoing a fundamental reshaping. Complex training and inference workloads create endless computing power demands and put tremendous pressure on cloud data centers. With the number of AI servers set to grow by more than 300% in the coming years, energy efficiency will no longer be a competitive advantage, but will become a fundamental requirement for the industry. Today, the units of power consumption considered in data center design have jumped from the megawatt level to the gigawatt level. In this context, energy efficiency directly determines the profitability of data centers. The unremitting pursuit of high energy efficiency is the consistent genetic inheritance of Arm's development in the past 35 years.

Enable leading chip solutions
With the Neoverse platform, Arm has created a strategic path for market-leading partners to develop a roadmap for chip technology that can adapt the insights gained from large-scale software operations to enable unprecedented overall systemic optimization of the data center. Because of this, the world's top 10 hyperscale cloud service providers are actively developing ARM-based chips and deploying them in their own data centers.
Hyperscale Cloud service providers such as Amazon Cloud Technologies (AWS), Google Cloud and Microsoft Azure have all adopted the Arm computing platform to build their own general-purpose custom chips to transform the way energy is used in data centers and cloud computing. Some use cases show that ARM-based chips achieve energy efficiency improvements of up to 60% over previous products. The strength of Arm's technology is that it enables companies to tailor their chips to their own infrastructure and on-premise and hosted software workloads.
In addition, the Arm computing platform provides partners with the flexibility to build a new generation of customized, differentiated chip solutions for AI. For example, NVIDIA's Grace Blackwell superchip for AI infrastructure combines NVIDIA Blackwell GPU-accelerated computing architecture and Grace cpus based on the Arm Neoverse platform. And integrated ultra-high bandwidth consistent mesh network. This system is customized for AI workloads and enables unmatched performance.
The market's strong demand for this customized AI chip can be seen from NVIDIA's recent data: the four largest hyperscale cloud service providers in the United States alone have ordered 3.6 million Blackwell chips. The Grace CPU based on the Arm Neoverse platform is an important component to meet this huge demand, providing the computing power and efficiency required for modern AI and data center applications.

Seamless software innovation
General-purpose chipsets from Arm partners, such as Graviton from AWS, Axion from Google Cloud, and Cobalt from Microsoft Azure, enable software developers to build applications on the Arm platform. And enjoy advantages such as efficiency and performance optimization. Thanks to the significant benefits of the Arm architecture in terms of total cost of ownership (TCO) and energy efficiency, popular applications such as Paramount+, Spotify and Uber are migrating to ARM-based cloud computing infrastructure, and this trend is continuing to expand. At the same time, the world's leading data platform companies, including Oracle and Salesforce, are also migrating services to ARM-based infrastructure.

From cloud to edge, Arm architecture is the cornerstone of the industry
With high energy efficiency becoming the first industry focus, today's cloud computing and data centers, from chips to software, are prioritized for Arm architecture design. Ubiquitous from the cloud to the edge, Arm's unmatched range and scale opens up new possibilities for innovation, efficiency and capability expansion. At the heart of all computing, Arm is leading and defining the era of AI. Arm is the cornerstone of the future of computing.
