Shanghai, China, February 28, 2025 - Toshiba Electronic Components & Storage Corporation (" Toshiba ") today announced the launch of Toshiba's first line of 4-channel high-speed standard digital isolators for in-vehicle applications, the "DCM34xx01 Series." The new family includes 10 devices with high common mode transient suppression (CMTI) of 100 kV/μs (typical value) [1] and high data transfer rates of 50 Mbps (maximum value) [2] for stable operation. All devices comply with the AEC-Q100 standard for the safety and reliability of on-board electronic components. The series of 10 products will support bulk shipments starting today.
In order to ensure the safety and reliability of on-board chargers (OBCs) and battery management systems (BMS) used in hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs) and electric vehicles (EVs), devices that can ensure isolation and prevent noise transmission are needed. In-vehicle standard digital isolators provide a solution for the multi-channel high-speed communication and high CMTI required for today's isolated devices.
The new isolator uses Toshiba's proprietary magnetically coupled isolated transmission method to achieve a high CMTI of 100 kV/μs (typical value). This not only isolates the high tolerance of electrical noise between input and output in signal transmission, but also ensures stable control signal transmission, contributing to the stable operation of the equipment. In addition, these new products have a low pulse width distortion of 0.8 ns (typical value) [2] and a data transfer rate of 50 Mbps (maximum value) for multichannel high-speed communication applications, such as I/O interfaces with SPI communication.
Toshiba's industry-standard digital isolators are now in mass production, and its product line is now extended to in-vehicle devices. Going forward, Toshiba will increase the number of package types and channels for products in both areas, and will continue to offer high-quality isolation devices and optocouplings to support the reliability and real-time data transmission required for in-vehicle devices.
