On September 11, 2025, WPG Holdings, an international leading semiconductor component distributor dedicated to the Asia-Pacific market, announced that Its subsidiary, Quanta, has launched two 48V four-phase 2kW step-down power supply solutions based on Innoscience's InnoGaN INN100EA035A gallium nitride power transistor and INS2002FQ gallium nitride half-bridge driver IC.

With the explosive growth of artificial intelligence and high-performance computing, the power of cpus/Gpus has been continuously increasing. To significantly reduce transmission losses, the global server power supply architecture is accelerating its upgrade from 12V to 48V systems. However, due to the limited space size inside the server, traditional power supply solutions often require a higher power density to achieve the power conversion from 48V to 12V. Against this backdrop, WUMC has launched two 48V four-phase 2kW step-down power supply solutions based on InnoGaN INN100EA035A gallium nitride power devices and INS2002FQ gallium nitride half-bridge driver ics, aiming to provide efficient and reliable power supply for 48V servers, new energy vehicle systems or communication modules.

Compared with Si MOS, GaN has excellent switching characteristics and lower switching losses. Therefore, it can achieve higher conversion efficiency, increase the switching frequency, and at the same time reduce the size of magnetic devices and the volume of filter capacitors, thereby enhancing the power density. Both of the two solutions launched by Wuming based on InnoSemi products adopt a four-phase interlock Buck topology. Each phase uses one 100V gallium nitride half-bridge driver IC INS2002FQ and four 100V low-voltage gallium nitride power transistors INN100EA035A with double-sided heat dissipation for power transmission.
The INN100EA035A adopts the double-sided heat dissipation En-FCLGA packaging technology. This innovative design overturns the traditional single-cooling packaging thermal management method and can effectively reduce the junction temperature of the device during operation. Moreover, this product features an extremely low on-resistance, which can significantly reduce energy loss and is the key to achieving high-power-density solutions.
The INS2002FQ adopts Innovent's self-developed FCQFN 3mm×3mm package, specifically designed for driving GaN. It integrates bootstrap and BST clamping circuits, supports independent pull-up and pull-down output pins, and can separately adjust the turn-on and turn-off speeds. Moreover, the device also supports three-state PWM input, allowing for flexible adjustment of dead time to achieve low latency and high driving capability, making it highly suitable for high-power and high-frequency application scenarios.

The two solutions respectively adopt double-coupled/four-coupled inductor designs. This design replaces the discrete inductors in the traditional Buck scheme with low-coupling coefficient coupled inductors, which can effectively reduce the inductor ripple current, while also reducing the volume of inductors and capacitors. This helps to increase the system power density and achieve flexible expansion functions. Under the conditions of 40Vdc-60Vdc input and 12V/167A output, the maximum output power of the two schemes is 2000W. Among them, the peak efficiency of the dual-coupled inductor design is 98%@1200W, and the full-load efficiency is 97.6%@2000W. The peak efficiency of the four-coupled inductor is 98.1% at 1000W, and the full-load efficiency is 97.7% at 2000W. Compared with the Si MOSFETs with outstanding performance on the market, the peak efficiency and full-load efficiency of both solutions have been increased by more than 1%.Core technological advantages The four-phase interlaced Buck topology has a mature ecosystem and flexible scalability.
The efficiency exceeds 98%, and both the peak efficiency and full-load efficiency are over 1% higher than those of outstanding Si MOSFETs.
High switching frequency, high power density, and significant energy consumption reduction. Under full-load windless conditions, the hot spot temperature of the device is more than 15 degrees lower than that of excellent Si MOSFETs.
