The 40 A to 240 A dual diode and single-phase bridge devices reduce the forward voltage to 1.36 V, and the QC is only 56 nC
MALVERN, PA, USA; Shanghai, China - February 27, 2025 - Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. (NYSE: VSH announced the launch of 16 new 650 V and 1200 V silicon carbide (SiC) Schottky diodes in the industry-standard SOT-227 package. These Vishay semiconductor devices are designed to provide high speed and high efficiency for high-frequency applications, and in their class of diodes, they achieve an excellent balance between capacitive charge (Qc) and forward voltage drop.
The diodes announced today include parallel dual-diode assemblies from 40 A to 240 A, and single-phase bridge devices from 50 A to 90 A. These diodes are based on advanced thin-wafer technology, and the forward voltage is reduced to 1.36V, significantly reducing on-off losses and improving energy efficiency. In addition, these devices have better reverse recovery parameters and almost no recovery tail current compared to silicon-based diodes.
Typical applications for these devices include AC/DC power factor correction (PFC), and DC/DC UHF output rectification in flyback (FBPS) and LLC converters for photovoltaic systems, charging stations, industrial uninterruptible power supplies (UPS) and telecommunications power supplies. In these applications, diode QC as low as 56 nC enables high-speed switching, and its industry-standard package is a direct alternative to competing solutions.
These diodes are available at up to +175? C works at high temperature and has a positive temperature coefficient to facilitate parallel operation. These devices are UL E78996 certified and feature a large creepage distance between terminals and a simplified mechanical design for quick assembly.
