Qi2 is a new generation of wireless charging technology standard launched by WPC (Wireless Charging Alliance) to provide a better charging experience and pave the way for the development of future wireless charging products and enhancements. The Qi2 standard introduces MPP (Magnetic Power Profile) technology based on Apple's MagSafe magnetic charging technology in the Qi wireless charging standard. Compared with BPP and EPP, MPP adds a magnet ring to achieve the best positioning alignment. Driven by this technology, the MPP Qi2 wireless module solution is launched based on the blendable semiconductor WB8118 chip, which can accelerate the design of wireless charging products that comply with the Qi2 standard.

The WB8118 is an efficient magnetic induction wireless power transmitter IC that supports the Qi2 15W wireless fast charge and has a wide input voltage range of 3.3V~18V. The IC is compatible with wireless Power receiver (ASK) communication, has a fixed communication interface port, and built-in reliable overvoltage, overcurrent and temperature protection. Voltage regulators, full Bridges and drivers are integrated within the IC and can communicate with other devices via an I2C interface. In terms of exterior design, the WB8118 uses an environmentally friendly lead-free process and a compact QFN 24-pin package with dimensions of 3mm x 4mm x 0.55mm. In addition, the chip's rated operating temperature range is wide and can withstand extreme temperature changes from -40 ° C to 105 ° C.
