Great Union World Peace Group launches AI capsule coffee machine solution based on NXP products

On February 11, 2025, DDA Holdings, a leading international distributor of semiconductor components in the Asia-Pacific market, announced that its subsidiary World Ping launched an AI capsule coffee machine solution based on NXP's MCX N947 MCU.

With the rapid development of artificial intelligence technology, all walks of life are actively exploring the application of AI technology in order to achieve the intelligent transformation of the industry. In the coffee industry known to the public, capsule coffee machines with AI functions are winning the favor of more and more consumers with convenient operation, efficient coffee making ability and stable coffee quality. According to relevant data, the global capsule coffee machine market size in 2023 is about 18 billion US dollars, and it is expected to reach 23 billion US dollars by 2026, with a compound annual growth rate of 5% to 6%. In response to this trend, the company launched an AI capsule coffee machine solution based on NXP MCX N947 MCU (high-performance microcontroller), which can realize fast and accurate identification of coffee capsules, and automatically adjust brewing parameters according to user preferences to provide personalized coffee experience.

The MCX N947 is a high-performance, low-power microcontroller from NXP that features a dual-core Arm Cortex-M33 with smart peripherals and on-chip accelerators that integrate eIQ? The Neutron Neural Processing Unit (NPU) can efficiently process neural network related algorithms, providing multi-tasking capabilities and high energy efficiency. Not only that, the MCU has a low-power cache that further enhances system performance, and dual Flash memory and RAM with ECC detection support system functional security, up to 2MB Flash and 512 KB RAM, providing additional protection and advanced information security features for the design.In order to simplify the design and development, this scheme adopts the FRDM board based on MCX N947 MCU for Demo construction. And equipped with OmniVision OV7670 CMOS VGA image sensor, with NXP LCD-PAR-S035, TJA1057GT/3 high-speed CAN transceiver and W25Q64JV Flash, by using FRDM to build a Demo, Can save development evaluation time. With the help of these products, the solution can capture pictures of coffee capsules through the camera, quickly identify and display the type of coffee capsules, and provide brewing suggestions.
