The United Nations World Peace Group launches a generic automotive evaluation board solution based on NXP products

    On January 2, 2025, the world's leading semiconductor component distributor in the Asia-Pacific region announced that its World Ping launched an automotive universal evaluation board solution based on NXP's S32K312 microcontroller and FS2303B secure power management chip.

    As the global automotive industry enters a new stage of intelligence, car manufacturers are not only facing great opportunities, but also many challenges. In the face of increasingly complex electronic control systems and stringent functional safety requirements, manufacturers need to speed up the transition from concept to market while ensuring product safety and reliability. Under this trend, the company launched a general automotive evaluation board program based on NXP S32K312 microcontroller and FS2303B safety power management chip, aiming to help customers improve the speed of product prototype verification, so as to meet market demand faster.

    The S32K312 is part of NXP's S32K3 family of automotive general purpose microcontrollers. The product is based on ARM? Cortex? -M7 kernel supports single-core, dual-core, and lock-step kernel configurations. The S32K3 series is scalable in terms of the number of cores, memory and peripherals, is ISO26262 compliant, offers advanced functional safety, information security and low power consumption, and is suitable for harsh body, area control and electrification applications.
    In addition, NXP's integrated free development environment S32DS and real-time drivers also allow customers to quickly start developing related application designs based on S32K3, greatly shortening the product development cycle to meet the rapidly developing market demand for automotive electronics.

    This solution is an evaluation board suitable for general industrial and automotive applications. The on-board core is equipped with a single-core S32K312 microcontroller in HDQFP-100 package. It is equipped with FS2303B secure power management chip, TJA1443ATK high-speed CAN transceiver, TJA1021TK/20 high-speed LIN transceiver and Molex high-performance connectors. Thanks to the excellent performance of the device, the solution can achieve the functional safety level of ASIL-B at optimized cost. And the solution supports HSE safety engine, OTA, advanced connectivity and low power performance, which can meet the basic development needs of users. Not only that, the evaluation board also adds the Arduino UNO standard interface and is compatible with the "Shield" expansion board option, which allows customers to prototype their products.

    The evaluation board size is 7cm×13cm, lightweight and convenient to use;
    32-bit ARM? Cortex? -M7 core, single-core mode S32K312, HDQFP100 package is 55% smaller than ordinary IC size;
    With safety power management chip FS2303B, to achieve a full range of power monitoring management and failure safety protection;
    Onboard USB to UART module, no external converter can realize the communication of the host computer;
    2 high-speed CAN transceivers and 2 LIN transceivers, which can communicate with the car ECU end-to-end through the bus;

    Provide Arduino UNO interface, can connect various types of development board for application expansion;
    Supports 10-Pin JTAG/SWD standard debugging interface and 4-wire SWD debugging mode.

Software Features:

    It is deeply coupled with the RTD real-time driver software provided by the original factory, and the rich official website routines provide users with a barrier-free development environment, which can be based on NXP's mass production level AUTOSAR? And Non-AUTOSAR? The bottom driving basis of vehicle gauge level application software development;
    Independent HSE safety subsystem, NXP provides free safety firmware, HSE safety engine - AES-128/192/256, RSA, ECC, secure startup and key storage, side channel protection, in accordance with ISO21434 standards;
    S32 Security Software Architecture (SAF), including six fault detection and response libraries, as well as free security peripheral drivers;
    Structure kernel self-test (SCST);

Project specification:

    Safety power management chip SBC FS2303B:
    The tree-shaped power rail provides power for microcontrollers and sensors. The power-on and power-off sequence of each power supply can be configured before delivery.
    With three working modes (normal mode, standby mode and stop mode), management system low static current and fast wake up function;
    Multiple WAKE sources: WAKE pin, HVIO/LVIO pin, CAN FD, LIN or wake up via SPI/I2C command;
    Built-in high side driver with loop sensing or wake source;
    Built-in 1 CAN-FD transceiver (up to 5Mbit/s communication rate) and 1 LIN transceiver;
    The sealing pad of QFN48 is exposed to optimize heat dissipation management;
    Extend the configuration and customize the chip through OTP burn memory;

Vehicle Level High Speed CAN Transceiver (TJA1443ATK) :
    Support standards HS CAN and CANFD, compliant with ISO 11898-2:2016, SAE J2284-1-5 and SAE J1939-14 standards;
    At the CAN-FD fast phase, the data rate of 5Mbit/s CAN also achieve reliable communication;
    Support extremely low current standby mode and sleep mode, with local and remote wake function;
    Through VIO input control, interface compatible with 3V and 5V microcontroller signals;
    AEC-Q100 Grade 1 certified (ambient temperature =125 ° C), dedicated TJA1443ATK for high temperature applications (ambient temperature =150 ° C);
    Complies with IEC 61000-4-2 standard, provides ±8kV excellent ESD resistance;
    The small size of the HVSON14 package enhances automatic optical inspection (AOI) capability.

Specifications for Automotive High Speed LIN Transceiver (TJA1021ATK) :
    Comply with 1/SAEJ2602 standard;
    Baud rate up to 20kBd;
    Very low power consumption in sleep mode, minimum power consumption in fault mode, with local and remote wake up function;
    Input level compatible with 3V and 5V devices, can be directly connected to the microcontroller;
    Very low electromagnetic radiation (EME), high electromagnetic immunity (EMI);
    Passive operation can be performed without power on.
    Integrated terminal resistors for LIN slave applications;
    High ESD robustness: Pins LIN, VBAT and WAKE_N can withstand ESD up to ±6kV, in accordance with IEC61000-4-2 standards;
    The small size of the HVSON8 package enhances automatic optical inspection (AOI) capabilities.
