Shanghai, China, November 8, 2024 - AMS OSram (Swiss Stock Exchange: AMS), a leading global provider of optical solutions, today announced the launch of the new OSLON UV 3535. This innovative UV-C LED is designed to meet the growing demand for mercury-free, highly efficient UV-C disinfection and therapeutic solutions. The LED single chip emits light with a wavelength of 265nm and an output of up to 155mW to achieve the ultimate bactericidal effect. Combined with its superior electro-optic conversion efficiency, this carefully optimized system-level solution is designed to meet customer needs in UV-C disinfection applications.

Advantages of UV-C LED light source
UV-C LED technology is gradually changing the way we purify and disinfect air, surfaces and water in many application scenarios. Our carefully crafted portfolio, combined with high-performance UV-C emitters, spectral sensors and high-precision presence detection devices, ensures that UV-C illumination is applied only when and where necessary, in precisely the right dose.
For example, at the entrance to the building, the UV-C LED reactor can be used to disinfect the water entering the building, and this process is based on actual needs. The ability to instantly turn on/off and adjust the UV-C light source is critical because the reactor must be able to respond quickly to the immediate water needs of multiple users.
The point light source characteristics of UV-C leds enable them to produce collimated beams, thereby reducing energy loss and improving photon utilization, making them particularly suitable for air and surface treatment applications. A study carried out by the University of Liverpool strongly proves that in air treatment equipment, UV-C LED technology achieves the same system performance as traditional mercury lamps, but the amount of UV-C radiation required by the light source is much lower than the latter.
The SU CULFP1 UV-C LED in the OSLON UV 3535 series from AMS OSram is now available worldwide.
