ME4084 Description:
ME4084 is a 24V single-section lithium-ion battery constant voltage constant current charge management chip, the maximum charging current can reach 600mA (SOT23-5, FBP2*2-6L), 800mA (DFN2*2-8L), 1A(ESOP8). Because the linear charger will be seriously heated in the case of large pressure difference between the input and output, its internal thermal feedback circuit can control the chip temperature during the charging process, and adjust the charging current to a lower level to adapt to the corresponding system heat dissipation requirements. The addition of few external components makes it ideal for portable applications.
The ME4084 does not require current detection resistors or external isolation diodes for anti-backflow applications. The charging cut-off voltage is fixed at 4.2V, and the charging current can be adjusted by external resistance. When the charging current reaches 1/10 of the constant current, the ME4084 will terminate the charging.
When the input voltage (adapter or USB) is removed, the ME4084 goes into sleep mode. The charging path is automatically turned off inside the chip, and the input voltage becomes low. At this time, the battery leakage current is reduced to less than 2uA. When the ME4084 is powered and the battery is removed, the chip current is reduced to 100uA to reduce system losses.
The ME4084 also features battery temperature detection, input undervoltage locking, automatic recharging, and two charge indication pins.

Note: If the input application needs to resist 24V power hot swap application, it is necessary to add an electrolytic capacitor above 22uF to the input.
Note: Another application of the input voltage resistance to 24V hot swap can be a 0.4 ohm resistor in series at the input, but be careful that the package size of the resistor is at least 1206.
