ChipSourceTek-CST6115 is a brushed DC motor driver designed for small appliances, toys, electronic locks, advanced robots, digital products and other small power tools and electromechanical equipment. It controls the H-bridge driver with two logical inputs, consists of four n-channel metal-oxide-semiconductor field-effect tubes (MOSFETs), and is capable of bidirectional control of the motor at peak currents up to 3.5A. Using the current attenuation mode, the motor speed can be controlled by pulse width modulation (PWM) of the input. When these two inputs are set to low and remain low for a period of time, the motor driver will enter low-power sleep mode.
The ChipSourceTek-CST6115 integrates four forward/reverse/stop/brake functions, while also being able to drive one winding of the stepper motor. In combination with another ChipSourceTek-CST6115 alternating drive, the stepping function is realized. The device also has various protection features that enable internal shutdown in the event of a failure, providing overcurrent protection, undervoltage locking and overheat protection. In addition, the ChipSourceTek-CST6115 also provides a low-power sleep mode.
The ChipSourceTek-CST6115 is available in an e-SOP8 package with heat sink for the 2.5V to 15V operating voltage range, providing up to 5.5A peak current. Its simple PWM interface enables the connection and control of the controller, and can enter low-power sleep mode when the system does not need to drive the motor.
ChipSourceTek-CST6115 has the following features:
Single channel H-bridge motor driver with current control
Can drive a DC motor, a stepper motor winding or other loads
Operating voltage range: 2.5V to 15V
Provides maximum 5.5A peak current
Support forward, reverse, stop, brake four functions
Support UVLO, overheat protection and OCP (Overcurrent protection)
Provides low power sleep mode
The ChipSourceTek-CST6115 pin configuration and pin description are as follows:
INA:Input A is used to receive the control signal and control the high-side switch action of the H bridge.
INB:Input B is used to receive the control signal and control the switch action on the low side of the H bridge.
OUTA:Output A, connected to one of the winding terminals of the motor.
OUTB:Output B, connected to the other winding terminal of the motor.
VCC:The power input is positive.
GND:Power input negative (ground).
The functional block diagram of the ChipSourceTek-CST6115 shows its internal structural design, including the input interface, H-bridge drive module, current detection and protection module, and PWM control unit. The device adopts advanced current attenuation mode, and realizes accurate control of motor speed by PWM modulation of input signal. In addition, the ChipSourceTek-CST6115 can also enter low-power sleep mode when the system is not driving the motor, thereby reducing overall power consumption and extending the service life of the device.
In practical applications, users can easily connect the ChipSourceTek-CST6115 to the controller to realize various operating functions of the motor through PWM signals, such as forward rotation, reverse, stop and brake. At the same time, the ChipSourceTek-CST6115 protection features ensure the safety and stability of the circuit, effectively preventing damage caused by overcurrent, undervoltage or overheating.
The ChipSourceTek-CST6115 is a powerful and high-performance brushed DC motor driver suitable for a wide range of application scenarios. Its efficient current control, comprehensive protection and ease of use make it an ideal choice for engineers designing and developing small power tools and electromechanical equipment. Whether in home appliances, smart toys or industrial equipment, ChipSourceTek-CST6115 provides reliable and efficient solutions.
